Let’s film! zoom through the culture glass
In January 2010, thanks to cooperation of Fundacja Together Polska and Spafford Children’s Center from East Jerusalem 12 young Polish went to Jerusalem to meet their Palestinian peers.
The main objective of the project is to empower the participants, to raise their social competence, to invest in their leadership skills, creativity, as well as active citizenship and intercultural learning.
The methodology of the project is to be based on interactivity, video animation and film production::: using the language of the image and art, the participants can question their reality, investigate it and express it in the way they like. Journalism and art meet here…
Having participated, the young Polish got an in-depth understanding of Arabic culture and to had the opportunity to discuss the most current issues with their Arab peers while expressing themselves through art.
On the other hand, the Palestinian youth had the opportunity to host young Europeans who are not one-day tourists they are used to meeting in Jerusalem, but their friends and peers, with whom they can fruitfully interact on a longer basis.
The second part of the project will take place in Poland in July this year. During the next 10 days spend together, Polish and Palestinian participants will develop their artistic skills and will have the next opportunity to get to know each other better.
The first part of the project was realised thanks to Anna Lindh Foundation.
