My Words are FREE- youth exchange in Macedonia coming soon

Together with Macedonian organization LOJA and German cultural center- DIE VILLA we have a pleasure to announce first part of the project MY WORDS ARE FREE that will take place in Macedonia between 31st of March and 7th April.

The project will be focused on the article 19 of the Declaration of Human Rights that says:

Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers.

All partner countries represent different level of involvement of youth in current social issues on local, national and global level. This project will make them aware of the wider reality in Europe, as well as link their everyday actions with global issues like human rughts.

Together Polska on UNAOC Pre-Forum in Doha, Qatar, May 2-5th

“How can we live together in a spirit of respect and cooperation while the increasing
diversity of our societies can generate anxiety, divisions and pressure on fragile
democracies? That is the question we must deal with at the Alliance of Civilizations and to
which we must continue to respond”, said HE Dr Jorge Sampaio, United Nations High
Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations.

The Doha Pre Forum brought together more than 190 civil society leaders,
representing regional and national networks from Africa, Latin America and Caribbean,
Europe, North America, Asia and the MENA region.

Fundacja Together Polska represented Poland during the event. More on: http://www.qatar4unaoc.org

On Islam in Europe…Training Course in the UK

Imagine a nice, spacious garden…
Imagine a little house in the forest of Dean – England…
…and 25 young people, both Muslims and non-Muslims who decided to open-up to each other and share their personal perspective concerning Islam… in Europe.

Three members of Together Polska participated in one of the few training courses organized by ASHA Fundation from UK that gave an opportunity to reflect on what is Islam in Europe, what’s our attitude towards it and why it is an important component of today’s culture of Europe.

The training not only turned out to be an intensive week full of encounters with so many creative and interesting people but also created space for self-reflection about what we know so far, what we would like to know more and how to examine our misconceptions about Islam.
This week provided us with useful tools for youth work specifically addressing the issues of Islamophobia and encouraged us to plan concrete activities to take place in the future.

EPTO meeting in Bruxelles

As Together Polska has joined an European Peer Training Organisation we were invited to take part in “Learning for Well-Being for children and youth” initiative couple of weeks ago. The gathering was chaired by Daniel Kropf, founder of Universal Education Foundation ( UEF), initiator of the movement, who introduced the new concept. Why and how do we learn? is the current educational system worth to continue or should we head towards new solutions? Results of the meeting on www.epto.org

EVS volunteers came back from Macedonia!

“It was a great time” – says Robert who together with Agata spent 10 months in Tetovo, Macedonia. They come back to the university but also think about coming back to Balkans one day. “Now when we know the language, it will be much easier to travel and make Bubble Show”. Big soap bubbles are not the only speciality of the volunteers: during their time in Macedonia, they have taught young people and kids how Camera Obscura works. Together they have created a movie that will be uploaded on YouTube very soon!
